Thanksgiving

Had a lot of fun today with my family. It was so great seeing my Sister and my Uncle for the holiday. We ate a lot of food, played some games and I meet Amanda's friend Bryon. He's pretty rad. I got a bunch of new clothes, which I needed very badly. Were leaving soon for Black Friday. Going to Walmart at 3:00am and getting a bunch of stuff. I love the Holiday's lol, I can't wait for Christmas. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, I sure did :)

iPhone Vs. G1

As most of you already know. I did a review a few weeks back on the G1, and did a compare and contrast with the iPhone. However, I want to throw that review in the trash. After doing a lot more research and really getting to see what the G1 can do. I think it is best that I re-write that review. I have always been an Apple fanboi. I've wanted to get the iPhone 3G for a while now and make the switch from my Mogul. I'm changing my mind. Here is why.

As you know, I'm a developer. A big reason why I got the Mogul(Which still is to me an amazing device). If I got the iphone, I would get bored out of my mind in one day tops. The iphone is not a open platform. Even though, the interface is close to perfect it still needs work. I've been reading up on countless blogs about how the iPhone, even after the new firmware, just keeps crashing. Apps fail, battery life is still draining, GPS isnt coming up and you have to go to such lenthgs, as with jailbreaking, just to get your device up to its peek performance. The G1, however, is open platform :)

I'm very glad that Google made the decision to one, go with an open platform device, and make it more userfriendly. And two, put the Android on an HTC Device. I adore HTC devices. The Mogul was a great device for me to explore the possiblites on customazing the interface. With the Mogul,I learned how to re-write congifs on a lot of great programs not made for the Mogul, to make it work for the Mogul. I accomplished getting Vista on my phone working better then on a PC, which by the way, is not an easy task. Took countless hours of me sitting at my computer and not calling my girlfriend back. Sorry Brittany, I love you. The G1 has opened new doors for developers to be able to create awesome programs, without the lag of WM6. Let's face it, no matter what you do to lets say a Mogul, or a Tilt or a Diamond. You are still going to have lag. WM6 is king with lag. Even though I got pretty awesome programs and software running on my device, I could not get it up to its peek performance due to lag. Also, I love touchscreens. However, I am very tired of the "stylus touch screens" I want finger friendly programs. I want a finger friendly phone. Which Apple has accomplished. BUT! So has Google, and they surpassed Apple in my opinion. The touchscreen on the G1 is great and very fingerfriendly, no stylus included!!!! HTC has FINALLY realized that it's 2008! not the late 90's. No more Stylus and PDA's. It's all about finger friendly devices.

Lets talk about Open Platform shall we? Google did a great job in developing this. There are already a lot of Apps for the G1 and best of all, most of the users are creating them. If you know how to write programs. Then use your talents to create an awesome application. You don't even need to show it off to Google, just post it up on some Forum for users to use and share with the community. No killswitch, no disapproves. You create it, and stream it on your device. I also like how the G1 has three home screens, all with different functionalites. And all you can customamize. Let's dicuss the actual device, the HTC G1, aka The Dream. In my opinion, its ugly. I hate the chin on the device, it looks like it might be hard to text on it. The keyboard is spaced out but not as flushed as I would like to see it. But HTC keep true with the soft material they use for keyboards, which I love. The screen is very responsive and pretty damn big. It has no headphone jack, which is a con and no stearo bluetooth, another letdown. It has a 3 MP Camera with Flash, and guess what Apple! Copy and Paste!! Muahaha.

There is so much more about the G1 that is truly amazing. For more in depth reviews on it check out Noahs videos on phonedog.com. He has a multiple part reviews showing off its email and texting functions. Applications and GPS, Multimedia, and an overview on the actual device.

Google still has a while to go, I think the Android Platform is amazing and almost flawless, the device itself however could use a little make up to it. It needs to slimmer and no chin on it. Give it a 2.5mm headphone jack and stearo bluetooth and in a couple years the iPhone will be like the Playstation 1.

The end of the day

Well, the day is winding down to a close.  I have to work tomorrow :(.  I enjoyed my day off while it lasted.  My days off always seem hours shorter then the days that I work.  How ironic is that huh?  Well,  I like the new blog.  Pretty classy I might add some things tomorrow night.  I'm not quite sure though.  Well,  I better go get ready for bed soon.  I have to get up early.  Goodnight.

Seacrest Out!

The worst rip off website of all time?

Yes, I said it.  There seems to be a lot of websites out there that rip you off but I think I found numero uno.  Sonic Cameras.com.  I read about 20 reviews on them and every single one is horrible.  Hundreds of people have paid triple amounts for items that are low quality.  Dozens have complained, but yet the site is still up and running, trying to sell you more.  They price their retail almost $400 above average pricing.  When you try and get you're money back they trick you into buying something else.  They take the cash as soon as they can from your credit card, then try to throw laws in your face to keep it.  We need to put this site down.

Please go to this link and read for yourself

A "Victum" of all of this left a number where they can be contacted, I'm very intrested in calling them myself.  Here is the number, incase any of you want to have some fun.
1-888-450-4111

Oh and one more thing.  One of the "Victums" is reporting a member of the site talking shit about their mother during the whole "Give me my money back you piece of shit" process.

And yet, they're still making money.  Amazing.

60 Minutes with Barack Obama

The 60 minutes with Obama was very soothing to me as an American.  It ensured me that he is still as confident as he was during his campaign.  His answers were honest and thoughtful and the passion he has for this country is outstanding.  It makes me proud to be an American.  He seems to have a hold on things.  I have no doubt in my mind that he will pull a better FDR and get us out of a horrible depression.  It may not take a 100 days, but, he will get it done.  I say thank you to the Americans that put their trust in Barack Obama and voted for him.  Change is coming, you'll see :)

Already another Android?

This is a rumor! but,  I heard it from a few reliable sources.  I hope it's true though.  Apparently another Android based device is supposed to be coming middle of 09, codenamed "Sapphire".  It will be on an HTC Device and will be on T Mobile, like the G1.  It's said to be a lot similar to the HTC Touch HD, with a 3"-plus touchscreen and slide out QWERTY keyboard.  Keeps the G1 Trackball and Android Interface.  No word what-so-ever on Wifi or any other connectivity options.

If it comes out (Which I hope it does), then it should boost the Android market.  the G1 is cool and all, but Google needs to do a little bit better next time.

That's all I got on it right now,  I'll post more when I know more

Today is my day off

Ahh, yes.  My favorite day of the week.  A magical day where I can sit on my ass all day and not do anything.  I wish I had more of these days.  So yeah,  I'm off and I'm pretty bored though.  Waiting for Brittany to get off work and just searching around online.  Downloading a new version of Flash.  Trying to re-write this config for Throttlelauncher, which is all in .xml format.  Yeah, just a typical day off of work.

Listening to some Muse

Mmmm Muse

How I love you.

Wait? RIM made a good device? No way!!!

Okay, the ones out there who know me, know I do not like Blackberries.  At all.  I'm not saying their horrible, just not up to par with all the new releases from Apple and Google.  I was really hoping Blackberry would make a huge win in my eyes with the Storm.  But it lacked a lot of key features needed in a Touchscreen device.  The Bold, however, is a different story.

It's amazing,  A lot faster then the 8000 series and the Curve.  It has a true HTML Browser, 3G and Wifi connectivity. Email/IM/MMS Capability. Full QWERTY Keyboard and big touchscreen display.  Even though the phone is big,  It still feels great in the hands.

It does has it cons,  They're some sync issues via bluetooth and the web browser likes to crash.  When it does not crash, it's still not as fast as Apple's Safari Mobile or Opera Mobile.  Still fast running on the 3G network.  The Bold is a great improvement in my eyes from previous Blackberry devices.  Thumbs up RIM!!!!
